Tribute To Evelyn Clark on behalf of Knebworth Grace Church

Created by Paul 3 years ago
We first met Evelyn, Bill and the Clark family at Welwyn Evangelical church in 1974 when they moved from Marseille for Bill to take the helm at Evangelical Press. Evelyn gave us lots of help with our new babies in the 1970s. Then in 1980 we moved away but kept in touch. It was in the mid-1980s that Bill and Evelyn went out of their way to come and visit us in Barrow-in-Furness where they kept us very well supplied with preaching cassettes of Henry Mahan, Don Fortner and others. In 1990, Evelyn, ably assisted by Janine, took care of our three sons while we visited preaching friends in the USA. When the Campus Church started in 1989 we would travel from Southampton every other week to attend the services. The Clarks home was made our home on those Sundays. Evelyn was a mother to us all and her outstanding cooking is still fondly remembered. Our time together in the Campus Church throughout the 1990s was the happiest of times. Then shortly after we started Knebworth Grace Church, Evelyn joined us. She was very supportive for several years until, gradually, her memory began to fail resulting in her move to St Andrews. We rejoice that the Lord has granted her greatest desire, to be taken home to glory and the unending intimate communion with her God and Saviour.
